Outside the cottage, the views over Donegal Bay are spectacular with stunning mountains as a backdrop. This is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with an abundance of attractions on your doorstep. Travel the short distance to Tullan Strand, and beachcomb the golden sands or ride a wave on your surfboard. This is the surfing capital of the northwest with many surfing schools in the locality. Travel south to the beautiful beaches at Mullaghmore, Streedagh and Rosses Point and Strandhill at nearby Sligo. The cottage is situated directly beside the River Drowes, famous for its wild salmon as they make their way to nearby Lough Melvin. Spend a day in the lively town of Sligo, home to poet W B. Yeats, with its many attractions, galleries boat trips on Lough Gill , historical sites, hill walking, megalithic burial sites, seaweed baths, shops and restaurants. Travel north to Donegal Town and savour its craft shops and take the coastal drive towards Killybegs, Carrick and Glencolmcille on onto the sea cliffs at Slieve League.
