Breakwater beach is a mere 400 meters walk, allowing for easy access to early morning swims followed by lovely coffee at the Breakwater beach cafe! Berry Head Nature Reserve is nearby, where you will find a Visitor centre, a Napoleonic Fort, incredible views and the award winning gastro cafe, The Guardhouse, serving super tasty, homemade food and drinks, and from here you can get onto the South West Coast path. St Mary’s Bay is a short distance from the house, where you will find a lovely unspoilt beach, a great place for a swim or sun bathe. Going in the opposite direction towards Paington, you can walk to Fishcombe Cove, where you will find the WWII heritage centre, various defence buildings and another great cafe overlooking the beach. With so much in walking distance, you will seldom need to drive anywhere! Should you desire to explore further afield, continue to Dartmouth, where you can explore the historic sites of Dartmouth Castle, Dartmouth Museum and Bayard’s Cove Fort, dine at one of three Michelin Star restaurants, or catch a ferry over to Kingswear, home to its own impressive castle. The stunning National Trust Coleton Fishacre is a short drive or park up and take the Dartmouth Steam Railway up the Dart river onwards towards Paignton. Paignton has popular attractions including Paignton Environmental Zoo, spend a day at the beach, or enjoy the entertainment on offer along the pier.
