Within the village itself you will find a convenience store, a local bakery and a post office, whilst the Kilmarnock Arms is a short drive away and offers fantastic food. Travelling further afield will bring you to various coastal hot spots and landmarks, including Slains Castle, Bullers of Buchan hiking trail, and Longhaven Cliffs Nature Reserve; all offer far-reaching views across the shorefront. The Peterhead Trail is worth joining, guiding you towards Buchanhaven Heritage Centre, and Peterhead Prison Museum, both recommended attractions for history fans. Travelling towards Ellon, you'll come across various activities to fill your itinerary, including tours of Haddo House and Country Park, an 18th century mansion, Pitmedden Garden & Museum of Farming Life, displaying woodland trails and agricultural artefacts, or perhaps opt for a fun-filled day at Wheelie Fun, offering Segway tours and go-karting.
