Built in 1898, Springburn Cottage is full of character and history – George Bernard Shaw stayed here. Situated in the Highland village of Strachur on the banks of Loch Fyne in Argyll, it’s been lovingly restored and is full of country charm.

Interior
The living room is warm and inviting with a fireplace and wooden floors. The country kitchen/dining is a lovely space area with a beamed ceiling and a quarry-tiled floor. The bathroom and utility room are also downstairs. There’s a steep staircase to first floor where there are two spacious double bedrooms, one with an ornamental fireplace and a sofa-bed (for +one).

The cottage is in the grounds of the owners’ home, but has its own sitting-out area with with outdoor furniture. The gardens are well manicured and the views are simply marvellous.

Explore
The cottage is just 100 metres from Loch Fyne's beach. There’s plenty to do, from walking to boating to fishing. It's also well placed to explore the rest of this lovely part of the west coast of Scotland. The local shop is one mile down the road and a pub and tennis courts are one and a half miles away.

This cottage is located in Cairndow. Auchindrain Highland Farm Township and Inveraray Jail are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Fyne Ales Farm Brewery and Puck's Glenn. Traveling with kids? Consider Benmore Botanic Garden and Quadmania.
