Coastguard Cottage is part of Newcastle old coastguard house, built from Mourne granite around 1860, on the lower slope of Slieve Donard mountain. This Victorian cottage has been renovated with modern amenities, while retaining the historic character of the building.
Sited on South Promenade, the cottage overlooks Dundrum Bay.
The kitchen/ living room features a solid fuel stove and cosy dining area.
The downstairs bathroom features a walk in shower.
Two bedrooms are on the first floor, and a third bedroom on the second floor.
A small garden at the back of the property has a little whitewashed house where there are laundry facilities.
This cottage is located in Newcastle. Annalong Corn Mill and Drumena Cashel are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Murlough National Nature Reserve and Mourne Mountains.
